Subject: [leadership] Let's Make Charlie Hodge an ACB Angel!
Hello Fellow ACB Leaders:
As you may be aware, the November issue of the Braille Forum contains an "In Memoriam" article for Charlie Hodge, a man I was privileged to call a mentor, colleague, and friend. The article is available at:
As the author of the article, I will say that I was barely able to scratch the surface in referencing Charlie's many contributions to ACB, but understanding the importance of ACB's financial health, one of his significant contributions was his commitment to our "life memberships" program.
ACB has recently established an Angels Memorial Tribute Program. Everyone honored by this program will receive their own page on the ACB website containing a testimonial and a photo. In addition, ACB has created a portable Angels wall which will be prominently displayed at every convention which includes each angel’s name in both large print and braille. Tributes to those deceased members who have been honored as ACB angels start at five hundred dollars or more.
Several individuals have already written to me inquiring about making contributions in Charlie's memory to honor him as an ACB angel. As Charlie's close friend, one he mentored and who now is privileged to serve as ACB's second vice president, I am urging all who can to support ACB with a memorial contribution. Charlie deserves to be on the ACB angels wall!
Memorial contributions should be sent to the ACB Minneapolis office at:
6300 Shingle Creek Parkway, Suite 195
Brooklyn Center, MN 55430-2136
Kindly indicate that your contribution is in memory of Charlie Hodge to assure that it is counted towards his being honored as an ACB angel.
