Library Users of America presents Library Without Walls

David Trott

Library Users of America is a special interest affiliate of the American Council of the Blind. We are interested in libraries, books, literacy and how to enrich the reading experiences of all people who are blind. Library Without Walls happens every two months on the third Wednesday of odd months. So we will be meeting on November 18 at 8:30 PM using Zoom. This time we will encourage each person to share two detective books with us. One must be contemporary; the other must be a historical detective. Sherlock Holmes would qualify as contemporary because his adventures took place at the time they were written. Will would like people to tell us where the books can be found: on Bard or Audible or Bookshare. If possible, let us know the book number and the narrator if applicable. After our meeting, Jane Carona will prepare a list of all the books we discuss which will be available to LUA members. There is a change in the way Zoom works this month so be sure to read on.
We will be using ZOOM MEETING for this event. The ID for the meeting is 526727187 and we now will use a password which is 139975. You can use this id if you already have Zoom installed on your phone. Open Zoom, go to join meeting and then input the nine digit code. You will then be asked for the password. Usually, you will be asked to connect using internet audio. You can use either your mobile or your land line phone to call into Zoom as well. This is just like calling an old style conference call. You dial the number and then wait till you are asked for a code and then enter the nine digit code. After that, you will have to enter the password. There are two numbers, one in New York and one in California. It is not clear to me which is the right one for you to use so try one and if, for some reason, it doesn't work, try the other. The San Jose number is (669) 900-6833 with the same code 526727187 and password 139975. The New York number is (929) 205-6099 and the usual code 526727187 and the u sual password 139975. If you have Zoom on your computer you can join by going to
https://zoom.us/j/526727187. THIS will get you to the place where you will need to enter your password 139975. we look forward to having lots of you join us when we talk about books that are funny
two detective books on Wednesday, November 18 2020 at 8:30 PM eastern time.

Our January topics is Westerns. In March we will discuss "southern novels". See you next Wednesday!
