Obituary for Michael malver's father

Malver, Frederick Sadek 82, of Minneapolis died peacefully at home Sunday evening, Sept. 5, 2021, surrounded by family. The cause was multiple myeloma. Fred was born August 9, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Shorewood High School, Harvard University (B.Sci.), and the Univer-sity of Minnesota (M.Sci.). He married Karen Kane of Duluth, MN with whom he raised three sons. He worked for 37 years as an engineer/scientist at Honeywell, with brief stints at companies in CA. Fred will be remembered as a life-long tennis and racket-sport player and enthusiast. He was an avid music lover and played flute in many groups, particularly 20 years with the Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band. He enjoyed family car trips, bicycling with Karen and friends, and held an especial love of hamburgers and popcorn. Fred was preceded in death by parents Arnold and Jane and step-father William Schapiro. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen; sons Aaron of Seattle, WA, and Michael (Patti Sanner) and David of Minneapolis; by his sister Sandra (Stephen) Goodman of Denver, CO; his brother Sherman Schapiro (Eva Janson) of Eureka, CA; nephews and a niece. He will be missed dearly.The family would like to thank all of the caregivers who assisted during Fred's illness, especially Hennepin Healthcare Hospice. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. CDT, THURSDAY, September 9, 2021, at TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2323 Fremont Ave. So, Minneapolis. Masks required.
