Subject: [Leadership] September 11, 2001 - Flight 93 Memorial tour with Audio Description

Dear friends,

Along with many of you, I spent some time this morning recalling the horrific events of September 11, 2001 and remembering just where I was when I heard the news. (I was in my office at the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC—my colleagues and I could see the smoke rising from the Pentagon.)

In remembrance of 9/11 and, specifically, the crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA, I thought it appropriate to provide a link to the audio described tour of the Flight 93 Memorial that I created for the National Park Service. It’s intended as an accessibility feature for visitors to the site who are blind or have low vision; but, of course, anyone can listen to the tour and get a sense of the Memorial without being there in person. The entire tour is almost two hours long; you’re welcome to listen to all or a part of it at:

All best,
