Ray, I am opposed to cancelling our meeting. Some people will want to go to the ACB session, but others will not. There will be other opportunities for people to attend community events on this topic, and one such meeting should be sufficient. I opt for individual choice.
Thanks.

Hello Lions:
Our August Conference Call is scheduled for 8:30 Eastern time on Thursday, August 5. August 5 is also the date the first ACB Community event is scheduled to gather member input on the amendments to the ACB Constitution and Bylaws we'll be reading, debating and voting on August 14 and 15. That event will probably start at 7:30 or 8:00 Eastern.
Do you all feel we should cancel our August 5 conference call since ACB is having this community event? Please let me know how you feel either way, and I'll go with the majority view. I have to send in the event to have it put on the community events schedule by the end of today, so please let me know your thoughts before then by phone or email.
Thanks,
Lion Ray Campbell, Immediate Past President, Glen Ellyn Lions Club and President, American Council of Blind Lions 630-258-0516 (Voice or text) Ray153056@...

Could we have more information about the proposed ACB Community call in order to make an informed decision. I would like to find out if and when any other community calls about these issues take place, and how long that session will actually be. Since the community call is on August 5 and voting will take place on August 14 & 15, I think it is importance for members of ACB Lions to participate in this process in an informed manner.
However, if the timing of this call is 7:30 or 8:00 pm eastern, if it ends by 9 PM we can do both. I can see where this is a difficult decision for our leadership, to be sure we have a voice in this process of constitution and by law changes, and that ACB Lions members participate from the beginning.

Hi Lion Colette:
Good question. ACB is planning two community calls, one on August 5 and a second on August 10. I haven't heard officially, but I believe these calls would start on both evenings at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Thanks,
Lion Ray Campbell, Immediate Past President, Glen Ellyn Lions Club and President, American Council of Blind Lions 630-258-0516 Ray153056@...
