[KCB-News] KCB Participating in Lions Coat Drive for Eastern Kentucky

Carla Ruschival

The Kentucky Council of the Blind is continuing to help meet the needs
of people in Eastern Kentucky who were impacted by the terrible
flooding in July.

Hundreds of people lost their homes in the flood. Many families are
still living in tents, and as the weather turns colder and winter
approaches, the needs are growing.

Lions Clubs in Kentucky are holding a coat drive for these families.
Jackson, Hazard, Hindman, Whitesburg, Pikeville and other towns are
some of the areas that have had tremendous need. The coats provided
will be for men, women and children, and will be new. Lions will shop
for and deliver the coats so they can be sure to supply what is
needed.

At its business meeting at the 2022 KCB convention, KCB voted to
contribute $1,000 to the coat drive, and we are inviting anyone who
would like to do so to participate as well. If you would like to make
a contribution using your debit or credit card to KCB, to be included
in our donation to the coat drive, please feel free to contact us by
phone at 502-895-4598 by Saturday, December 3. Please note that 100
per cent of your donation will be sent to the Lions Clubs' drive.

Thank you for helping fill the needs of needy flood victims this holiday season.
