Helen Keller and the Lions

Carla Ruschival

Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be "Knights of the Blind".  But
her involvement with the Lions was so much more than those four words.

Learn more about Helen Keller and her relationship with the Lions
today (Thursday) at 5:30 PM.  Micheal Hudson, Director of the museum
at the American Printing House for the Blind, will take us back nearly
100 years and help us discover how it all happened.  An amazing piece
of Helen Keller history.

When:  Thursday, July 22, at 5:30 PM on Zoom and ACB Media 6

When you register for ACB Lions along with your convention registration,
you will receive a special 50-year ACB Lions commemorative pin and be
eligible to win door prizes. Visit www.acbconvention.org
to register, or call the ACB Minnesota office at (612) 332-3242.

For more information about ACB Lions, call Carla Ruschival at (502) 897-1472.

Was that the one that Danielle got? I came in on the end of that. It was between her and another person and I couldn’t imagine what they were bidding on! Amazing!

Thanks, Donna.

Mitch, I emailed Janet yesterday about this voting thing as in many ways it is very confusing and not necessarily inclusive. She said voting would commence at 10 AM on Monday though candidates would be announced Sunday evening. To me it would make a lot of sense if a delegate, alternate or someone from ACB would send out an email blast to let people know that there is a contested election so cast your vote. I know I can’t spend the day listening to these sessions. If others can, that’s great. Just a thought.

Thanks.

Fellow ACB Lions:

As ACB Lions alternate delegate, I will be assisting Carla Ruschival in the delegate voting process. At last Thursday’s business meeting, we agreed to support Donna Brown, Ray Campbell, and David Trott for their current positions, and Kenneth Semien, Sr., who is running for a position on the ACB Board of Directors. However, it is likely that there will be a contested election for ACB First Vice President as well as for an additional open seat on the Board.

We decided that when a contested election occurs, ACB Lions members will contact me either via e-mail, or by telephone to let me know to whom you want your vote to go. I will keep a running tally and forward that tally to Carla to divide our four votes appropriately. You may e-mail me at mitch.pomerantz@... or call (626) 844-4388 to cast your vote. Please do not text me! Remember that your vote only counts toward how Carla will divvy up ACB Lions four votes. You are still entitled to cast your vote as an individual. If you have questions, please e-mail either Carla or me. Thank you.
