chili supper
Carla RUSCHIVAL <adamcarla@...>
The Louisville East Lions Club chili supper was great! 2 bowls of chili, a hotdog, and homemade German chocolate cake - I was stuffed.
Lots of people were there. They do this every fall, so it is not only a fundraiser but a neighborhood social event. People come from the Printing House, LC Industries, the surrounding neighborhood, the KSB Alumni, and from Lions Clubs in the area. Now we are all waiting for the Louisville East bean soup supper in the spring. Carla Ruschival Facebook - adamcarla@... I am glad you enjoyed it. It is always good to go to a good meal and have good food and support a good cause at the same time. This morning Bill and I went to the boy scout pancake breakfast. It was yummy too. Thanks for everyone who came to the Lions club chili supper.

Lions District, State and International Conventions
Ray Campbell <ray1530@...>
Hello Fellow and Lady Lions:
I'm curious how many of you attend your Lions District or State conventions, and how many have attended a Lions International convention? I have attended our District convention off and on since about 1991. I always enjoy attending the convention, learning what other clubs are doing in the district, and of course, the hospitality rooms are always great. It provides a good opportunity to meet with the top officers in the District and learn from them. Plus, at our District convention, we have schooling sessions where you can learn everything from how to be a more effective officer, to what goes on at the Lions of Illinois Foundation, ETC. I've attended state conventions since about 1993, but not as many as District. Again, I enjoy the networking and sessions. At state, we sometimes have exhibits and our ACB affiliate has exhibited several times. One of my dreams is to get to a Lions International convention some day. Unfortunately, it's right around the same time as ACB, so, decisions, decisions. I think that attending conventions shows other Lions that we who are blind can and want to be active members above and beyond our individual Lions clubs, and that we have talent to offer. Take care, Lion Ray Campbell, President, Glen Ellyn Lions Club ray1530@...

fun networking via e-mail, however District and Zone Meetings, as well as State Conventions are in a league of their own. Yes, it is Networking that will assist us in identifying more resourceful ideas than you can imagine. We recently attended a District Cabinet Meeting that gave us the chance to meet so many kind people with a desire to serve. It is a privilege to be able to access and utilize resources to the fullest. In addition to serving as Membership Chairman, I also enjoy being the District Song Leader in my area. There is a lot to share. Let's remember those who join acb-lions in the future will appreciate us sharing some of the communication we are sharing with one another, so don't be surprised when you observe a repeat of thoughts that are shared today. I live in district 4a2, and have attende several district and multi-district conventions. My favorite is our multi-district convention that has been held the last two years in Cayucus Beach...literally on the beach! What fun! The Cayucus Lions have their own clubhouse, and it is a very nice one. I have yet to attend a Lions international convention, as they fall around the same time as ACB. Lion President William Calling
blindwilly@...
ACB Lions,
Welcome to all our ACB lions that are joining our
list serve. It has taken a lot of work and we look forward to lots
of fun and discussion.
Let me look for someone to help with the first
assignment. That is what this list can be used for. Who
knows of a strong, welcoming club in phoenix Arizona. We are going
to be having our yearly visit there next summer and we would like to plan things
far in advance. If you know of a club in the Phoenix area that might
meet close to the hotel that we will be staying in, give me a shout and we will
see what goes on.
Again, let me welcome everyone and thanks so much
for your support. I will be sending out the monthly reminder about
our December meeting, so until then keep roaring.
President, William Benjamin

ACB Walk and Lions
John Ross
Fellow Lions,
Here's a thought; Perhaps we in ACBL could organize enough of our members and participate in the ACB Walk this year. It's going to be indoors at a mall. Each lap around the mall is a mile. Last year's event was a 3K. This would be great publicity for Lions..a Pride of Lions at the ACB Walk! Thanks, Lion John Lions Clubs International - "WE SERVE" since 1917. Lions are Knights of the Blind.
