Good Sunday Ray:

Yes, several ACB Women Committee members have concern about this policy but
the group decided to continue putting our calls on the Community Call List.

I would like to know, as you are on the ACB Board as an Officer of ACB to
represent us, the membership, so because I did not listen to that call I'd
like to know how you voted and what your thought process is as to why you
voted as you did. This will help me come to an understanding as to your
thought process as I do not walk in your shoes.

Many thanks in advance for your response to this.

Hello Lions:

I hope you're all having a great Sunday. I need your input on something.
The ACB Community Calls have a new rule, that every call has to be recorded
to the cloud, that the recording has to be retained for two weeks and a link
to the recording has to be sent to community@... within 24 hours of each
call. The ACB board approved this policy change at our meeting on October
9. Cindy Hollis indicated this is being done to protect participants on
calls and to investigate any complaints about a particular call where it's
believed that inappropriate things were said.

I need an answer by Wednesday to this question. Because of this change, do
we still want to keep the monthly "Come Roar with ACB Lions" conference call
on the ACB Community List? I can tell you that BITS has taken their BITS
chats off the community list because of this change. I've also talked with
someone on the ACB Women committee who has expressed some concerns about
this. During the board discussion, concerns were expressed about recording
certain types of calls where topics of a sensitive nature are discussed, but
the board approved the policy anyway.

I need to put our November 4 call in for the community list by this
Wednesday, so please let me know by then if you want to keep our calls on
the community list and I'll do what the majority of those responding want to
do. You can call or email me.

Thanks very much,

I for one don't feel we should continue to put our calls on the ACB
Community list. Each group should be responsible for their monitoring
system. Anyway, to put each group on the Cloud? No. -Barb k1eir@...

Ray, I suggest we post as usual for this upcoming call and discuss the issue there. In that way we can make the decision as a group and have the opportunity to discuss the benefits and problems of participating in the community. I suggest you include that agenda item in the meeting announcement so as to inform the membership. It will be interesting to see if that item gets deleted from the meeting announcement by those who compile the descriptions of the calls.

Hello, tomorrow, Tuesday, September 7th is the last day to buy raffle tickets for ICB’s summer raffle fundraiser. You could win a lot of money, it could help pay bills, buy something you have been really wanting, Christmas presents, or maybe a little getaway somewhere. The more you buy more and greater your chances to win? Just call the ICB office and use your credit or debit card, but you only have until 2:00 PM central time!

They are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. You can buy as many as you would like to. However, the more you buy the more chances you have to win, but all it takes is 1 ticket to WIN! You have a chance to win 50% of all funds raised. We will draw the lucky winner on Friday, September 10.  Good luck, and we thank you in advance for your support.

LION Ray,

Good meeting tonight! I wanted to share tonight, but just couldn't get my hand raised in time. One of our Georgia LIONS asked me about doing some training on vision loss and technology for LIONS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN Leadership Hours. Could we develop a curriculum for such a training. I am a Certified Master's level Vision Rehabilitation Therapist and would be more than happy to serve on such a Committee.

Thanks for your leadership! Also, we have gotten a new Georgia Member from your passing on Ann Harrison's name to Betsy and me.

Ray, I am not a member of ACB so I wasn’t sure how they would have my address.

Thank you guys, this is helpful, but what we really need is ACB to provide these addresses as they have since 2016.

Hello Lions:

Per our discussion during our August 5, 2021 ACB Lions meeting, I have made
a formal request to ACB for the mailing addresses of all ACB Lions
registrants so we can send them their ACBL pins.  Due to my involvement in
the special ACB meeting to adopt the Remote Voting Constitution and Bylaws
amendments and activities leading up to it, this request took longer than it
should have.  Thank you to Lion Carla for helping me make this a good,
strong request.
